Come to an event

Throughout term we host events in Oxford that anyone can attend. Please visit our Events page for scheduled, upcoming events. The easiest way to stay up to date with where and when our events are is to like us on Facebook and subscribe to our mailing list.

Event entry is free for members and typically costs £3 for non-members.

You can read more about buying membership here.

Write for us

Our journal, Lighthouse, is published once a term in 7th week. We accept pitches for Lighthouse articles starting in 0th week until the beginning of 2nd week. Articles are usually around 1,000 words and are centered around that issue's theme.

We are always accepting submissions for our blog. Writing for our blog is a great initial way to get involved with the society. Posts are around 500 words and can be on any topic relating to international relations.

Subscribe to us

A great way to get involved is to listen to The Beacon podcast series and subscribe to The IRSoc Daily, our daily news bulletin.

The Beacon is published every Sunday and features interviews with experts on topics from around the world.

The IRSoc Daily is e-mailed to you each weekday morning during term and is an excellent way to stay up-to-date on what is happening in each region of the world.

Join Us

At the end of each term we look for a new committee to make our events and our publications possible. Applications usually open in 7th week. Committee positions range from president to communications to podcast and Lighthouse editors.
